Evacuation of Saigon - April 29, 1975 - Vietnam.
Air America helicopter crewman helps evacuees up the ladder
of a Saigon building. The evacuation site is one of many
in the downtown area from where Americans and Foreign Nationals
are being evacuated to waiting navy ships off the coast.
This
picture was published in every newspaper and magazine worldwide,
signifying the end of the Vietnam War.

: This picture has been in every book dealing with
the war as well as on the cover of a couple of them.
Awards : Nominated for the '76 Pulitzer Prize. The N.Y.Deadline
Club gave it a Special Citation in '75 and in the same year
the Picture Of the Year Competition (P.O.Y) gave it an Honorable
Mention, as did the World Press Photo.
